At age 12, everything changed when I wanted to buy some black nail polish. Simple, right?
I stood in the beauty aisle looking for anyone like me. Nothing. I felt invisible. The packaging wasn't for me. Base coat? top coat, maximum-crystal? diamond repair? 10-free? The entire space made one thing clear: not for me.
The polish I finally bought home wasn't just one bottle, but strangely had to be three? And then there was the process: Base coat. Colour coat. Top coat. Wait, wait, wait. Don't move. Don't touch. Be careful. Sit still...
Finally done with "ok" looking nail polish. I hit the skate ramp. Concrete. Speed. Impact.
The traditional nail polish? Wrecked in minutes. Chips. Dents. Smushes.
All that effort? Wrecked.
Standing there looking at my hands, I realised something.
The beauty industry was stuck in the past. Traditional nail polish was built for careful, delicate application. For sitting still. For people with time.
There were no options for people who actually do things with their hands.
I had two choices: accept it or ...make something awesome.
The Problem: Normal nail polish was made for sitting still.
So I designed it for the customer I was.
I knew what it needed to be:
✅ 1-step gel polish - no base coat, colour, top coat. Ultra-shine colour you can paint straight on
✅ Pen format - simply twist, and paint
✅ Super-durable - strong and skate-proof
✅ Quick-dry - super hard, in minutes.
✅ Accessible - anyone could use it, on the go, at-home, anywhere
Traditional nail polish was made for sitting still, not grinding forward. To just be pretty, not powerful too.
The girls I know are done sitting still, too. They’re drummers, artists and boxers, and they are always grinding forward.
So it had to be polish with grit AND gorgeous gloss. A simple to use pen that fit easily in any hand with gel polish formulated for everyone who moves, who creates, who refuses to stay still.
And GLOSSY BOYS was born 🤘🏼
From Skate Ramps to TEDx
TEDx at 13, 'You're Never to Young to Change the World'
At 13, I stood on the TEDx red dot on a massive stage, and said what I actually believe: the world didn't fit me.
I couldn't see myself in the spaces I wasn't supposed to be in. So I created my own space.
Being different takes brutal honesty. You can't ask if it's okay to stand out. You can't lie to yourself just to fit in. You can't wait for permission. No matter how young you are.
There were so many challenges. So many times I could've played it safe. Not worn that polish. Waited to start in business. Just stayed invisible like everyone expected.
But standing in that big pink pharmacy, the world told me I wasn't allowed. I didn't belong.
The polish failed me, the space erased me. Both broken.
Normal nail polish was made for sitting still, not moving forward. And I refuse to sit still.
I didn't ask permission to change nail polish; it didn't fit me, so I made something that did. And showed others they could too.
When you do that? You give everyone else permission to do the same.
I believe in people who hear "that's impossible" and say "watch me".
You don't need to wait to become yourself. You already are yourself. Right now.
Self-expression without limits. Style that speaks louder than words. Colour that doesn't need permission.

Everything I was hoping! The pen makes it so much easier for me to paint my nails without getting the polish all over my fingers, and if I do get some stray spots it's easy to clean off since it's gel and dries different than regular polish! The light works great and dries the gel super quick. Definitely ordering more polish in the future!

I purchased the Pride pack! I eagerly awaited for my Glossy Boys Pride pack to arrive, which didn’t take long at all.
I was not disappointed! The pens are super easy to use, the colours are awesome, bright, and fun. The lamps are perfect for curing, and the whole pack is easily stored in the Glossy boys tube packaging it came in the post with.
